Baba Tapeshwar Nath ji Mandir
The temple holds significant religious importance, with a history rooted in the penance of several ancient sages and saints, including one known as ‘Bhalu Das Baba’ who meditated in a cave at the site for 400 years. It is believed that Lord Shiva was pleased by their devotion and chose to reside there, leading to the name Tapeshwarnath (“Lord of Penance”). The area around the temple was once a place where the Ganges River flowed, evidenced by the sandy soil still found there.
